Modernization of Railway Signaling System, Simpang Station
Project Background
The modernization of Station Simpang, located between Prabumulih and Kertapati, enhances this vital node serving the coal line, container yards, and coal yards in South Sumatra. The upgrade was aimed at increasing capacity, with a key feature being the replacement of the existing mechanical interlocking system with advanced electric signaling.
Project Completion
Completed in 2022, the project scope included the supply and installation of all indoor equipment—such as interlocking systems, power systems, and interface systems—as well as outdoor equipment, including LED signals and point machines. Additionally, the project involved testing and commissioning of the new systems. The introduction of Electrologixs Interlocking, an ALSTOM product, was a pivotal element in modernizing the station's signaling infrastructure.
